We believe that one of the world's biggest problems – and one that is growing worse thanks to global warming - is a chronic shortage of water. Over a billion people have no access to clean drinking water, and over two million children die every year from water-related diseases. That's nearly one child every 15 seconds. None of these people live in regions where Greener Planet is planning to produce its organic wine, but they share our world.

Which is why, for every bottle of Greener Planet wine that is sold anywhere on earth we will make a contribution to Water Aid ( www.wateraid.org ). The first project in which we are involved is the PAISA/ Passore Rural Project in Burkina Faso, West Africa.
Burkina Faso is a vulnerable country due to reasons such as an inconsistent rainfall,
large populations, an economy based on a primitive agricultural system yields of which
strongly depend on climate changes. Education and health are also poorly developed. Droughts, floods, epidemics and bushfires are the principal constraints faced by the country. These disasters bring about significant human, material and financial losses which in turn worsen the socio-economic development of a country ranked among the poorest worldwide. Following the droughts and locust invasions of 2004, harvests and pastoral resources got severely affected and sometimes jeopardised in the regions of Sahel, North, and central Northern and to some extent, the central West and the central plateau. continued/
